PARADE – DEIRDRE SARGENT

PARADE questions our intimate relation with images – not so much the ones we post, send and receive to talk about our lives or learn about the lives of others, but rather the images we accumulate, close to where we live. And it’s not so much about the screens we’re glued to or the news loop on TV, but rather about the images we see so often that we’ve come to appreciate them. The frame-inframe, the landscape seen from the window, the image of the sofa-bed and the ratty old shirt you like to sleep in, the photo’s placed along the stairs or on the bedside table, the porcelain knick-knacks: infra-messages, all of them, that have shaped us with time.

PARADE is a show curated by EXO EXO.
A solo show by Deirdre Sargent.
Scenography by Antoine Donzeaud.
Text by Elisa Rigoulet.
