Demasiado (aka Dick Verdult). Dick is cult in Latin America. Since 2000, he has been working on a large collection of CDs and vinyls, and has written three Spanish-language novels in which he puts cumbia and popular culture through the mincer. He spent his childhood in Guatemala and Argentina. That is where this danceable folk distortion – which he calls ‘Celulitis Popular’ – comes from.
On 3 December, Verdult will give one of his rare Dutch performances at Pier15 as part of his exhibition at Club Solo. This performance is a collaboration between Club Solo and Pier15.
