THESE THINGS TAKE TIME

HOTEL SOLO 1

TTTT GENT (BE)

TTTT is a non-profit interdisciplinary art initiative and exhibition space in the centre of Ghent, founded in 2012 by Matthias Yzebaert in collaboration with Godart Bakkers, Charlotte Van Buylaere and Laura Herman. TTTT focuses its activities on the work of emerging and established artists, and on collaborations with private and public organisations. TTTT wants to explore the physical possibilities of the exhibition space, as well as the experimental and performative aspects of the space.

TTTT

FELIX KINDERMANN (DE) EN MERZEDES STURM-LIE (DK)

TTTT chose to take the exhibition that was to take place at its own location but could not, as the starting point for the exhibition in Club Solo. The invited artists were Felix Kindermann and Merzedes Sturm-Lie. Originally, they would make TTTT into a (self) reflecting space by means of mirrors, combined with video works. By continuing this project in Breda, the conceptual-reflective space in Ghent became a metaphorical self-reflection. An imaginary space, conceived as a time capsule in which past and present find each other in a single gesture.

This exhibition can be seen simultaneously at their own location and is the concluding event of four years in Ghent with more than 30 exhibitions. These Things Take Time reflects on this period and at the same time looks to the future in Club Solo. The space in Ghent and the temporary, or ‘imaginary space’ in Club Solo thus literally become a ‘self-reflective space’.
